The twenty-first reign opened with a bang with two candidates who both ran the previous year being crowned by their opponents and this Nicole Sommers and Michael Graczyk became the 21st Empress and Emperor of the Imperial Court. They were the first Monarchs to try something different by holding an “investiture’ of their Court titles the night before PR Ball giving out titles for Bars, Business and Organizations and Citizens of the Realm, leaving Saturday a shorter evening! Out of town entrance awards were plenty during the twenty-first reign and two very popular Monarchs represented our city well in their travels. Empress Nicole started her annual “All Walks of Life Show” which raised over $1500 for the AIDS Walk during the twenty-first year. The first scholarships of the reinstated White Rose Scholarship Fund were awarded at Michael and Nicole’s stepping down culminating a very community oriented reign.

PR Ball was Egyptian; Snow Ball “A Roman Holiday” and King of Hearts “A Time Machine” ….an International Travel theme to this year was consistently portrayed by two gracious and hard working Monarchs.

These monarchs, as in the past, were blessed with stable and hard working Line of Succession which included Prince and Prince Royale, Mark Kasel and Sydney Andrews; Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, Albert Dorris and Cosandra Kay; Czar & Czarina Steve Lafata and Coco Chanel; Marquis and Marquessa, Richard Siemers and Backseat Betty; Don and Reina, Lee Doudney and Alyssa Del Rey to mention a few. This court was oriented and hard working. Upon their stepping down, Michael awarded his permanent title of Imperial Crowned Prince to all Emperors to Albert Dorris and Nicole gave the title of Keeper of the Ruby Orchid, Protector to all Empresses to Marc Brewster.

Their stepping down, “An Intergalactic Space Odyssey’ has the distinction of the being the second longest Coronation in Court History at 8 ½ hours!! With its flight of fantasy, it led us to the 22nd Reign.
